What a great item for the grown up Barbie fan! Officially licensed merchandise, this very large latte style mug is painted in Barbie pink and gold. I could see this as a wonderful gift for the right person and something the recipient could use every day.
I think what I like most about this mug is that the design is actually quite sophisticated. Barbie and her friends have been around for literally decades: those of us who grew up with her aren’t kids anymore. It’s nice to pay homage to those memories without seeming childish.
The main body of this cup is classic white inside and out. The large handle is painted in metallic gold. The detailed paisley design is executed in Barbie pink and the same metallic gold. The Barbie signature forms the interior of one leaf, and I noticed little Bs making up part of the border pattern of that leaf. Great detail!
The overall shape is more of a bowl than a typical mug. Taken together with the size, it would great for soup as well as your favorite beverage.
At 20 ounce capacity, this is a jumbo size mug. While made of sturdy ceramic, the metallic gold paint means you should not use in the microwave. Avoid putting in the dishwasher: you will need to hand wash this pretty item.
